The TrumpRx Wegovy price is $199 a month for your first two fills, then $349, and that single number is why so many self-pay GLP-1 users are suddenly asking how the government’s new drug-pricing portal works. TrumpRx.gov launched in February 2026 as a place to see manufacturer cash prices in one spot, and it now lists the Wegovy pen, the Wegovy pill, Ozempic, Zepbound and Foundayo. This guide walks through every current price, who qualifies, where the order actually gets filled, and the December 31, 2026 deadline that matters if you are still on the starter doses.
What TrumpRx is (and what it is not)
TrumpRx is a price portal, not a pharmacy. It shows the self-pay price each drugmaker has agreed to under the federal “most-favored-nation” deals, then hands you off to the manufacturer’s own fulfillment channel: NovoCare Pharmacy or a pharmacy coupon for Novo Nordisk products, and LillyDirect for Eli Lilly products. You still need a valid prescription from your own provider, and you pay with cash, an HSA/FSA card, or a credit card. Insurance is not billed at any point.
That matters because the prices you see are identical to what NovoCare and LillyDirect already charge directly. TrumpRx did not create a cheaper tier; it made the existing self-pay tiers easy to compare. If you have commercial insurance that covers your medication, your copay with a manufacturer savings card may be lower than anything on the portal, so check coverage first, and appeal a denial before you assume cash is your only path.
TrumpRx Wegovy price: pen and pill, by dose
Here is the TrumpRx Wegovy price list as of late September 2026, taken directly from the portal and NovoCare’s self-pay offer page. One month means one box of four pens or one 30-count bottle of tablets.
Wegovy pen (weekly injection)
- $199/month for 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg, limited to your first two monthly fills as a new self-pay patient, available through December 31, 2026.
- $349/month for 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg after the intro fills are used.
- $399/month for Wegovy HD 7.2 mg, the newest high dose.
Wegovy pill (daily oral semaglutide)
- $149/month for the 1.5 mg starting dose.
- $199/month for 4 mg.
- $299/month for the 9 mg and 25 mg maintenance doses.
Notice the pattern: the pill is cheapest at the bottom of its ladder and the pen is cheapest for exactly two fills. If you are weighing the two forms, our Wegovy pill vs injection comparison covers results, side effects and the 30-minute rule alongside these prices. Because most people move up a dose every four weeks, your real monthly cost changes as you titrate, and the free GLP-1 cost calculator will project your first-year total across the whole schedule.
Ozempic, Zepbound and Foundayo on TrumpRx
The other GLP-1 listings follow the same self-pay logic but with different tiers, so it is worth reading them side by side with the TrumpRx Wegovy price.
Ozempic (weekly injection)
- $199/month for the first two fills of 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, through December 31, 2026.
- $349/month for 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg afterward.
- $499/month for the 2 mg pen.
Zepbound (weekly injection, vial or KwikPen via LillyDirect)
- $299/month for 2.5 mg.
- $399/month for 5 mg.
- $449/month for 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg and 15 mg, as long as you refill within 45 days of your last order. Miss that window and the standard prices apply: $499 for 7.5 mg and $699 for the three highest doses.
Foundayo (daily orforglipron pill via LillyDirect)
- $149/month for 0.8 mg, $199 for 2.5 mg, about $299 for 5.5 mg and 9 mg, and $349 for 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg.
Zepbound’s 45-day refill rule is the detail that trips people up. A late reorder does not just risk a missed dose; it can add $250 to your next month. Logging each order date next to your doses makes the deadline obvious, and you can do that free with Pep, which tracks shots and pills in the same timeline. Who qualifies for TrumpRx pricing
Every listing on the portal carries the same eligibility language, and it is stricter than many people expect:
- You must be a resident of the United States or a U.S. territory, 18 or older, with a valid prescription.
- You must be paying entirely out of pocket for that medication. The Novo Nordisk offers exclude anyone with Medicare, Medicaid, VA, DoD, TRICARE or other government coverage, and they cannot be combined with commercial insurance for the same fill.
- Lilly’s Zepbound and Foundayo pricing is self-pay as well, though LillyDirect notes that if you have insurance, your copay may be lower and you should check it first.
Medicare users are not left out entirely; they simply use a different door. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program sets a $50 copay for Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo for eligible beneficiaries, which we explain in our Medicare GLP-1 coverage guide. And if your employer plan is dropping GLP-1 coverage in 2027, the prices above are the fallback you will be comparing against at open enrollment.
How to actually order through TrumpRx
- Get the prescription first. TrumpRx does not connect you to a prescriber. Your doctor, a telehealth service or a clinic sends the script to the fulfillment pharmacy.
- Pick the product page on TrumpRx.gov. Each drug page shows the self-pay price by strength and links to the correct channel.
- Novo products: you either order home delivery from NovoCare Pharmacy (free shipping) or accept the terms and receive coupon details (BIN, PCN, group and member ID) to present at a retail pharmacy. The price is the same either way.
- Lilly products: the page routes you to LillyDirect, which ships Zepbound vials or KwikPens and Foundayo to your door. LillyDirect Customer Care handles questions by phone on weekdays.
- Set a refill reminder. The two-fill Wegovy and Ozempic intro and the 45-day Zepbound window are both date-driven, so a calendar alert or in-app reminder protects the price.
The December 31, 2026 deadline
Two things change at the end of the year. First, the $199 introductory price for the Wegovy and Ozempic starter doses is only available for fills placed between November 17, 2025 and December 31, 2026. Second, Novo Nordisk has said its self-pay pricing will be updated after that date, without committing to what the new numbers will be. Lilly’s Zepbound Journey pricing carries no published end date but is described as subject to change.
In practice, that means anyone starting Wegovy or Ozempic this fall should try to complete both intro fills before the new year, and anyone already on a maintenance dose should budget with the $349 to $449 range rather than the headline $199. Prices at this level are still 70 to 85 percent below the roughly $1,000 to $1,350 list prices the portal shows for comparison, according to the official TrumpRx Wegovy page.
TrumpRx Wegovy price FAQ
Is the TrumpRx Wegovy price cheaper than NovoCare?
No. TrumpRx displays the same $199 intro, $349 standard and $399 HD prices that NovoCare Pharmacy charges directly. The portal is a convenience for comparing drugs, not a separate discount.
Can I use the TrumpRx Wegovy price with my insurance?
Not on the same fill. The offer is for self-pay patients only and excludes government-insured patients entirely. If you have commercial coverage, compare your plan’s copay (often lower with a savings card) before paying cash.
Does the $199 TrumpRx Wegovy price apply to every dose?
Only to the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg starter pens, and only for two monthly fills through December 31, 2026. From 1 mg upward you pay $349, and Wegovy HD 7.2 mg is $399.
