Missed Dose Calculator: What the GLP-1 Labels Say

Missed a GLP-1 dose? This free missed dose calculator tells you what the official prescribing information says to do for Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Rybelsus, Saxenda, and the Wegovy pill — based on how late you are. It reflects the label guidance, not personal medical advice; when in doubt, call your pharmacist.

How the Missed Dose Rules Work

Each GLP-1 label defines a window for late doses based on the drug’s half-life. For weekly semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy), the window is 5 days; for weekly tirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro), it’s 4 days. Inside the window, take the dose and carry on; outside it, skip and resume on schedule — the long half-life means there’s still medication in your system, which is why doubling up is never the answer. Daily pills (Rybelsus, Wegovy pill) are simpler: a missed morning is just skipped. GoodRx’s missed-dose guide is a good plain-English reference for the label language.

Missed Dose Calculator FAQ

I missed my Ozempic dose by 3 days — should I take it?

Per the label, yes: within 5 days of the missed dose, take it as soon as you remember, then resume your weekly schedule (many people shift their shot day to the new day). Past 5 days, skip it.

Will one missed GLP-1 dose ruin my progress?

No. Weekly GLP-1s have long half-lives, so one missed dose causes only a modest dip in medication levels. Appetite may feel stronger for a few days; it recovers with your next dose. Repeated misses are what stall progress.

What if I missed two or more weekly doses?

Contact your prescriber before restarting. After 2+ missed weeks, medication levels drop enough that resuming at your full dose can bring back strong side effects — some people need to step back down and re-titrate.
